Ruben Dias was born on May 14, 1997, in Amadora, Portugal, and is a professional footballer who currently plays as a centre-back for both the Portugal national team and the Premier League club Manchester City. Dias began his youth career at Estrela da Amadora, where he played until the age of 10, before moving on to the youth academy at Benfica, one of Portugal's largest clubs. He progressed through the ranks at Benfica, eventually making his first-team debut in 2017 and quickly establishing himself as a key player for the club.
During his time at Benfica, Dias won two Primeira Liga titles and was named the Best Defender in the 2018-19 season. In September 2020, Dias joined Manchester City for a reported fee of €68 million, making him the most expensive Portuguese defender in history.
