During the time of major tournaments, the occurrence of live-streaming games is not something new. It can be seen through social media, and on numerous unknown websites, matches are being streamed live. Illegal streaming of English Premier League matches has resulted in millions of dollars being scammed.
On Tuesday, five individuals were found guilty in this incident and were sentenced to 30 years and 7 months in prison. This verdict was given at the Chesterfield Justice Center. The five individuals were accused of piracy, money laundering, and contempt of court.
Flawless, Shared VPNs, and Optimal (also known as Cosmic) had been illegally streaming for the past five years. These sites have earned more than £700,000. After the verdict was passed on the five individuals, Kevin Plumb, the General Counsel of the Premier League, stated, "We have achieved this verdict through a very complex operation. This prosecution has provided significant evidence of large-scale involvement in piracy and other serious crimes. Most fans of the Premier League can enjoy watching matches properly. There they were involved in such heinous crimes."
