Fulham Football Club has officially completed the signing of Nigerian defender, Calvin Bassey, from Ajax Amsterdam. The talented 23-year-old has inked a four-year contract with the Premier League team. Though the exact transfer fee remains undisclosed, British media reports suggest that Fulham is set to pay around £21 million ($27.00 million) for Bassey's services.

Having earned 10 caps since his Nigeria debut the previous year, Bassey brings valuable international experience to Fulham's squad. Prior to joining Ajax, the skilled defender had a successful stint with Rangers, where he clinched the SPL title and Scottish Cup. He was also a prominent figure in the 2022 Europa League final, where Rangers narrowly lost to Eintracht Frankfurt in a penalty shootout.

In an interview with Fulham's TV channel, Bassey expressed his excitement about joining the club, acknowledging its stature and the quality of players it possesses. Playing in the Premier League, which he considers the best league in the world, made the decision to sign with Fulham an easy one for him.
