On Friday, Olympique de Marseille announced the signing of Renan Lodi, a Brazil defender, from Atletico Madrid in the Spanish LaLiga. The length of the contract and transfer fee were not disclosed by Marseille, although local media estimates suggest the deal could be valued at around 13 million euros ($14.60 million).

Renan Lodi, who previously played on loan for Nottingham Forest in the Premier League during the 2022-23 season, joined Atletico Madrid in June 2019 from Athletico Paranaense in Brazil. He was a member of the Atletico squad that secured the LaLiga title in the 2020-21 season.

Prior to his stint in Europe, the 25-year-old left back achieved success in Brazil, winning the Copa Sudamericana in 2018.

Having made his Brazil debut in a friendly match against Senegal in October 2019, Renan Lodi has earned 16 international caps to date.
