Inter Milan continues their quest for defensive reinforcements following a strong Serie A kickoff. Their upcoming match against Cagliari, led by former coach Claudio Ranieri, awaits them on Monday.

Simone Inzaghi's Inter began their season with a 2-0 victory against Monza, Lautaro Martinez securing both goals. Although Monza exploited gaps in Inter's defense, their finishing lacked precision.

Inzaghi eyes Benjamin Pavard from Bayern Munich to bolster their defense. However, the completion of the deal in time for Pavard to face Cagliari remains uncertain. Inzaghi stated, "The club is working hard...it is our duty to make the fans happy."

Cagliari, under Ranieri's guidance, started with a 0-0 draw against Torino. Ranieri, who coached Inter previously, led Cagliari to Serie B promotion.

Lazio, last season's runners-up, faces newly promoted Genoa after suffering a 2-1 defeat to Lecce in their opener. Maurizio Sarri acknowledged defensive shortcomings after the loss.

Juventus, led by Massimiliano Allegri, welcomes Bologna on Sunday. Allegri boasts a nearly complete squad for the season's first match at Allianz Arena. Juventus is unbeaten in their last 22 Serie A games against Bologna.

AS Roma visits Hellas Verona on Saturday, with striker Paulo Dybala and midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini returning from suspension.

AC Milan hosts Torino, aiming to build on their impressive start after a 2-0 win against Bologna. New signing Christian Pulisic scored, while Olivier Giroud netted as well.

Champions Napoli overcame an early scare in their opener against Frosinone. They continue their title defense against Sassuolo on Sunday, likely with the return of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
