Spanish Women's national team player Jenni Hermoso, who received a kiss on the lips from Luis Rubiales, the chief of Spain's soccer federation, following their World Cup victory, expressed her feelings of vulnerability and described the incident as an act of aggression. The incident, which occurred after Spain's World Cup triumph, led to widespread calls for Rubiales' resignation.

In a statement shared on social media, Hermoso conveyed her sense of vulnerability and emphasized that she felt subjected to an act of aggression. She expressed her belief that she was not treated with respect in the situation. Hermoso also revealed that she faced pressure from the soccer federation.

In a collective move, numerous members of the Spanish Women's national team announced their decision not to participate in matches for the country until Luis Rubiales steps down from his position. The players' stance comes as a response to the incident and its aftermath.

Despite growing pressure, Rubiales declined to resign, a decision that intensified the frustration of both players and government officials. Many criticized Rubiales' actions as an unacceptable display of misogynistic behavior.

A joint statement, endorsed by a total of 56 players, including Jenni Hermoso and the entire 23-player squad that secured the World Cup victory, was issued through their FUTPRO union. This statement called for the immediate removal of the leadership of the soccer federation, highlighting the widespread demand for accountability and change within the organization.
