On his 22nd birthday, Julian Alvarez became an integral part of Manchester City. Even before signing a five-and-a-half-year deal in January 2022, the Argentine wonderkid had already earned recognition, boasting five senior international caps for his country.

Before his move to Manchester, Alvarez spent time on loan with River Plate, continuing his development until the summer of 2022. His ascent in the world of football began with his senior debut for River Plate in October 2018, where he swiftly garnered a reputation as one of Argentina's most promising young forwards.

His tenure at River Plate saw Alvarez shine brightly, amassing an impressive tally of 54 goals and 31 assists in 122 appearances, a feat that included a pivotal goal in their 4-0 victory over Racing, securing the Argentine league title.

Alvarez's international journey commenced in a World Cup qualifier against Chile in June 2021. As part of the squad that claimed victory in the Copa America in July, he contributed to Argentina's triumph.

Upon his arrival at the Etihad Stadium in the summer of 2022, Alvarez seamlessly transitioned into Manchester City's ranks. His natural goal-scoring ability, coupled with his exceptional awareness and vision, earned him admiration from fans and experts alike.

Notably, at the young age of 22, he played an instrumental role in Argentina's conquest at the 2022 World Cup finals in Qatar. Displaying his prowess, he netted four goals during the tournament, including a memorable brace in the semi-final against Croatia. His exceptional form persisted as he contributed to Argentina's third World Cup victory, a thrilling 4-2 penalty shootout win over France after a dramatic 3-3 draw over 120 minutes.

In recognition of his stellar performance, Alvarez signed an extended contract in March 2023, binding him to the Etihad Stadium until 2028. His debut season with City yielded not only his first Premier League trophy but also his inaugural FA Cup and Champions League trophies. City's victory over Manchester United in the FA Cup final was followed by a 1-0 win over Inter in the Champions League final.

With a commendable record of 17 goals and five assists in 49 appearances during the 2022/23 season, Alvarez's potential for surpassing these figures in the upcoming season is palpable. The 2023/24 season marked another achievement for Alvarez as he played a vital role in City's Super Cup victory, even scoring a spot kick during the penalty shootout win over Sevilla in Athens.

Born on January 31, 2000, in Calchín, Argentina, Alvarez's nationality and passion for football have shone brightly. His forward position on the field perfectly aligns with his natural talent and determination. Julian Alvarez's journey from Argentina to Manchester City has been marked by achievements and promise, making him a rising star to watch in the world of football.
