Real Salt Lake has officially signed midfielder Braian Ojeda from English Premier League side Nottingham Forest on a permanent basis, as announced by the club on Tuesday.

Ojeda, a Paraguayan international, had been on loan to RSL since August 2022, and his contract now extends through the 2025 MLS season with options for 2026-27. He is part of the U22 Initiative, along with winger Andrés Gómez and midfielder Nelson Palacio.

The 23-year-old midfielder has made a significant impact during his time at RSL, providing two assists in 27 league matches, 18 of which he started. He often forms a formidable partnership in central midfield with Pablo Ruiz.

RSL's general manager, Elliot Fall, expressed his delight with Ojeda's contributions, stating that he has become an instrumental piece of the current squad and a crucial building block for the club's future. Making Ojeda's transfer permanent is a source of excitement for the team, and they eagerly anticipate his continued growth and development in Salt Lake.

On the international front, Ojeda has earned eight senior-team appearances for Paraguay, showcasing his versatility to play in both box-to-box and defensive roles.

The midfielder expressed his happiness about the resolution of his situation and his excitement to continue with Real Salt Lake. He emphasized the strong bond he has formed with the club, viewing them as his family during his time in Utah. Ojeda is determined to contribute to the team's success and hopes to reward the passionate RSL fans with trophies in various competitions, including the Leagues Cup, Open Cup, and ultimately, the MLS Cup Playoffs.

He extended his gratitude to the coaches, staff, and fans for their support and acknowledged their role in his growth as both a person and a player. Ojeda looks forward to achieving great success with RSL in the coming years.

Real Salt Lake has been active during the Secondary Transfer Window, securing permanent deals for Ojeda, Palacio, and striker Cristian Arango. These acquisitions have bolstered the team's roster as they continue to climb the ranks in the Western Conference under the guidance of head coach Pablo Mastroeni, currently holding the third position.
