Paris Saint-Germain's star striker, Kylian Mbappe, is set to make his return to action in Ligue 1 against Nice this Friday. Coach Luis Enrique confirmed his availability after Mbappe missed a recent friendly against Germany due to an injury concern.

Following the clash with Nice, PSG faces a demanding series of matches, including a showdown with Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League next Tuesday and a league match against Olympique de Marseille the following weekend.

Mbappe was on the bench but unused during France's 2-1 loss to Germany, with France manager Didier Deschamps revealing that the striker had encountered a knee issue in training the day before.

Luis Enrique expressed optimism about Mbappe's readiness for the Nice match but acknowledged the need to assess his condition further. He mentioned that preparing for this game after the international break has been challenging due to some players returning late.

The coach highlighted the arrival of midfielder Manuel Ugarte and defender Marquinhos, emphasizing that despite the interruptions, the team has been working together for two months, ensuring that they are familiar with the tactical instructions.

Luis Enrique also discussed the upcoming opponent, describing Nice as a hard-working team led by a young but experienced coach. He noted their daring style of play, characterized by risk-taking and a proactive approach both with and without possession of the ball.

Before the match against Nice, PSG will pay tribute to former midfielder Marco Verratti, who recently departed the club to join Qatari side Al-Arabi after spending 11 years with PSG. The tribute is expected to be a special moment for Verratti and his family.

In the current Ligue 1 standings, PSG occupies the second position with eight points from four games, trailing AS Monaco by two points and sharing the same point total with third-placed Marseille.
