It was suggested that Maguire might be the closest to returning, especially since he didn't travel to Germany for the Bayern Munich match due to discomfort after training.

In response, Ten Hag stated, "Perhaps, as you mentioned, Harry Maguire. We will have a clearer picture after Friday afternoon's training session. Varane is set to train, and we will assess his condition. Amrabat will also be training, and we'll monitor his progress. Mount is in a similar situation, as they've all been sidelined for varying periods. Varane's absence was the shortest."

The Saturday match with a kick-off time of 20:00 BST offers an opportunity for Manchester United to regain their form before a series of important fixtures, including a home doubleheader in the Carabao Cup and the Premier League clash with Crystal Palace. Facundo Pellistri is a potential candidate for his first start in the English top flight, especially after his appearance in the starting lineup at the Allianz Arena.
