Manchester United has officially secured the services of left-back Sergio Reguilon, announcing a season-long loan agreement with Tottenham Hotspur. This significant transfer development was jointly unveiled by both Premier League clubs on a Friday.

Sergio Reguilon, aged 26, joins Manchester United as a critical replacement for Luke Shaw, who suffered a muscle injury last month and faces several weeks of absence. Additionally, the backup left-back, Tyrell Malacia, remains sidelined due to an injury sustained in the previous season.

Reguilon expressed his readiness to contribute to the team's success, stating, "Having spoken to the manager, I know what he needs from me, and I am ready to play my part in helping the team to achieve success. I know that I can contribute to Manchester United this season; I am ready to fight for this group and show everyone my qualities."

Reguilon's football journey includes his development through Real Madrid's academy, followed by his move to Spurs in 2020 after a successful loan spell at Sevilla, where he secured the Europa League trophy. During his initial two seasons in England, he made more than 60 appearances for Tottenham. However, in the 2022-23 season, he was loaned to Atletico Madrid.

As Manchester United prepares to face Arsenal on Sunday, the team currently holds two victories from three league games, with Arsenal narrowly leading them by one point in the league standings.
