Napoli Striker Victor Osimhen Sidelined with Hamstring Injury

Napoli confirmed on Monday that their Nigerian forward, Victor Osimhen, sustained a hamstring injury during his international duty. The 24-year-old had to be substituted around the one-hour mark in Nigeria's 2-2 friendly draw with Saudi Arabia last Friday.

While the club did not provide a specific timeline for Osimhen's recovery, Sky Sports Italia indicated that such an injury typically necessitates a recuperation period of four to six weeks. As a result, Osimhen is anticipated to miss multiple upcoming matches, including Napoli's forthcoming fixture against Hellas Verona on Saturday, the Champions League group game against Union Berlin on October 24, and a Serie A clash with league leaders AC Milan five days later.

Currently positioned fifth in Serie A, Napoli has heavily relied on Osimhen's goal-scoring prowess, with the striker netting six goals for the club in the league this season.
