Arsenal's midfielder, Thomas Partey, is set to make his return to the squad for the Champions League clash against Lens on Tuesday, as confirmed by manager Mikel Arteta. Partey had been sidelined for the past six matches due to a groin injury he sustained during training in early September.

Arteta expressed his satisfaction with Partey's progress, stating that the 30-year-old Ghanaian international had been making significant strides in his recovery over the last two weeks. Partey had also been able to participate in team training sessions for the past few days, marking positive news for Arsenal.

The manager emphasized Partey's importance to the team, highlighting the qualities he brings to the squad. Arteta provided an update on Bukayo Saka's status as well, following Saka's early exit during Arsenal's 4-0 victory over Bournemouth in the Premier League. Saka had suffered a significant knock, but Arteta mentioned that he had recovered well and trained with the team. A decision regarding Saka's participation would be made closer to the match on Tuesday.

Despite Lens' disappointing start to the season, currently occupying the 15th position in Ligue 1, Arteta cautioned against underestimating them. He noted that Lens had experienced some unfortunate results this season, and Arsenal expected a tough battle in the upcoming match.

In an additional note, severe storms in southern England had disrupted Arsenal's travel plans, resulting in a nearly five-hour delay to their flight to France, as reported by British media. Nevertheless, Arsenal leads Group B following their 4-0 victory over PSV Eindhoven in the opening match, while Sevilla and Lens played to a 1-1 draw in Spain.
