US Soccer Stars Harris and Krieger Announce Divorce after Four Years
According to multiple reports, former United States women's national soccer team players Ashlyn Harris and Ali Krieger have decided to end their nearly four-year marriage. Harris initiated the divorce proceedings in Florida on September 19, with the filing indicating an amicable separation and a commitment to co-parent their children. The couple adopted two children, Sloane in 2021 and Ocean in August 2022.
Both distinguished as two-time World Cup champions, Krieger and Harris first crossed paths at a USWNT camp in 2010. Initially keeping their relationship private, they eventually tied the knot in December 2019, with their USWNT teammate Sydney Leroux officiating the ceremony. Following their tenure at Orlando Pride, the duo played for Gotham FC in the NWSL after a 2021 trade.
Harris, the first NWSL player to achieve 500 saves, concluded her 12-season career upon the culmination of the 2022 season. Meanwhile, Krieger announced her plan to retire post the conclusion of Gotham FC's 2023 NWSL season. Throughout their careers, Krieger and Harris used their platform to advocate for LGBTQ+ rights and mental health awareness, emphasizing the importance of leaving a positive impact on the sport and the community.
