Manchester United's manager, Erik ten Hag, has labeled Marcus Rashford's birthday party celebrations, merely hours after the team's 3-0 defeat by Manchester City last weekend, as "unacceptable."

The English forward, who turned 26 on Tuesday, hosted a pre-planned party at an exclusive Manchester nightspot on Sunday, a decision that didn't sit well with the United boss.

Ten Hag addressed the issue during a press conference on Friday, stating, "It is unacceptable. I told him. He apologized and that is it."

While acknowledging Rashford's misstep, Ten Hag emphasized the player's overall commitment and contribution to the team, both on and off the pitch. He affirmed, "So he makes a mistake, but it doesn't imply that he isn't dedicated. Despite this one mistake, he has been demonstrating commitment to the team and striving to ensure our success."

The Dutch manager confirmed that Rashford remains available for the upcoming game against Fulham, following the resolution of the matter internally.

Presently, Manchester United finds themselves in the eighth position in the Premier League standings, having accumulated 15 points from 10 games. Their current standing places them 11 points behind league leaders Tottenham Hotspur. On the other hand, Fulham occupies the 14th position with 12 points.
