Manchester City took immediate action to prioritize the safety of their fans following an unfortunate incident preceding Wednesday's 3-2 Champions League victory at Red Star Belgrade. Reports highlighted that some supporters were subjected to an attack in a local bar, resulting in minor injuries.

Expressing deep concern, Manchester City FC addressed the situation through British media, stating, "Manchester City FC is concerned by the news of an attack on our travelling fans last night in Belgrade." The club further emphasized their collaboration with local law enforcement, working closely to offer additional safety advice and support to the affected fans.

To enhance fan security, the club had proactively arranged buses for the safe transportation of supporters to the stadium. Moreover, as a precautionary measure, fans were held back by the police after the match before departing the venue. This deliberate delay aimed to ensure the implementation of necessary safety measures and address any potential risks before fans left the premises.
