Erik ten Hag expressed his views on Manchester United's performance during their 2-1 victory against Luton Town. Despite Rasmus Hojlund's early brace securing the win, Ten Hag believed United could have sealed the game earlier had they been more clinical.

He emphasized the importance of taking chances, stating that scoring more goals could have made the match easier for them. Ten Hag highlighted missed opportunities that could have extended their lead and expressed disappointment in conceding chances to the opposition.

Regarding the need for control, Ten Hag stressed the importance of maintaining focus throughout the game. He acknowledged that while United is on a good run, there is room for improvement in controlling the game and minimizing defensive lapses after taking the lead.

Ten Hag praised Hojlund's confidence and perseverance, highlighting his journey and recent performances. He emphasized Hojlund's growth and belief in his abilities, noting his recent goal-scoring form as a testament to his character.

On the contentious issue of Casemiro's red card, Ten Hag expressed dissatisfaction with the referee's decision, particularly regarding the first booking. He believed that Casemiro's first caution was harsh and questioned the consistency of refereeing decisions.

Explaining his halftime substitutions, Ten Hag cited concerns about potential further bookings for certain players. He opted to make changes to avoid risking additional suspensions due to the referee's reactions.

Regarding Kobbie, Ten Hag acknowledged his maturity and progression, suggesting that he could merit consideration for international selection. However, he left the decision to the England team coach and manager.

Providing an update on Luke Shaw's injury, Ten Hag stated that further assessment would be needed to determine the extent of the issue, indicating that it did not look promising.

In terms of the race for the top four, Ten Hag acknowledged United's position in the competition but emphasized the need to remain focused and consistent. He highlighted the importance of staying competitive throughout the season and expressed optimism about United's prospects moving forward.
