Colombian midfielder James Rodriguez has made an official move to Sao Paulo, the esteemed Brazilian Serie A club. After parting ways with Olympiakos Piraeus in April, the 32-year-old has now inked a two-year contract with Sao Paulo, becoming his fourth club in as many seasons. Previously, he had spells at Everton in 2021, followed by a stint at the Qatari side Al-Rayyan, and then joining Olympiakos on a free transfer last term.


Rodriguez's transfer to Sao Paulo adds another remarkable chapter to his illustrious career, as he has now been associated with ten different professional clubs spanning ten countries. His journey began back in 2006 at Colombia's Envigado, showcasing his footballing prowess and versatility across various leagues and nations.


Over the years, Rodriguez has graced the ranks of renowned European clubs, leaving his mark at Porto, Monaco, and Real Madrid. One of the highlights of his career came during the 2014 World Cup, where he earned the prestigious Golden Boot by scoring six crucial goals throughout the tournament.


His time at Real Madrid was equally impressive, gathering numerous accolades, including two Champions League triumphs, two LaLiga titles, and a victorious Europa League campaign during his stint at Porto. Additionally, from 2017 to 2019, he embarked on a fruitful two-year loan spell at Bayern Munich, capturing two Bundesliga titles and securing the German Cup.
