Uruguay striker Edinson Cavani has made a notable move to Boca Juniors, following the termination of his contract with LaLiga side Valencia. The Argentine club officially announced his signing on Saturday, and the 36-year-old has committed to an 18-month contract with them. Boca Juniors is currently seeking additional time from the Argentine FA to register Cavani for the Copa Libertadores round of 16, as reported by local media.

The club warmly welcomed the experienced player, expressing their excitement with a message "Happy to have you home" on their social media channels.

Cavani's football journey began in Uruguay with Danubio before he made his move to Europe in 2007, joining Palermo. After an impressive four seasons there, he transitioned to Napoli, where he became a prolific scorer, netting an impressive 104 goals in 138 games and lifting the Coppa Italia.

In 2013, the striker signed for Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), where he spent seven successful years, earning the distinction of becoming the club's all-time top scorer. However, last season, this record was surpassed by French forward Kylian Mbappe, who scored 212 goals in all competitions.

During his time at PSG, Cavani enjoyed remarkable success, claiming six Ligue 1 titles, five French Cups, six League Cups, and reaching the Champions League final.

In 2020, Cavani joined Manchester United, but after two years, he moved to Valencia on a free transfer. Recently, both the player and the Spanish club reached an agreement to mutually terminate his contract, which was originally set to expire next year.

Cavani's international career has also been noteworthy, as he has made 136 appearances for Uruguay, scoring 58 goals. His goal-scoring prowess makes him the second-highest scorer in the country's history, just behind Luis Suarez. Notably, he played a crucial role in helping Uruguay secure victory in the 2011 Copa America tournament.

With his arrival at Boca Juniors, fans eagerly anticipate witnessing Cavani's contributions on the pitch as he embarks on a new chapter in his distinguished career.
