Paris Saint-Germain's Senegalese defender, Abdou Diallo, has officially completed a transfer to Qatari club Al-Arabi, as announced by the Ligue 1 team on Tuesday. While the specific financial details of the agreement were not publicly disclosed, sources from within the French media suggest that the 27-year-old athlete has committed to a four-year contract with Al-Arabi, with the club reportedly paying a substantial transfer fee of 15 million euros ($16.35 million).

Expressing his sentiment towards the move, Diallo conveyed, "I will forever hold the identity of a Parisian and remain profoundly grateful for the privilege of donning this esteemed jersey." The accomplished center-back enjoyed considerable success during his tenure with Paris Saint-Germain, contributing to the team's triumphs with two Ligue 1 championship titles, two French Cup victories, and a League Cup conquest.

Diallo's football journey began at AS Monaco, where he honed his skills through the youth ranks. His formal debut took place in 2014, a stepping stone on his path to ultimately clinching the Ligue 1 championship in 2017. Subsequently, he embarked on a transformative phase of his career, joining Paris Saint-Germain in 2019 following a spell with Borussia Dortmund, which included a noteworthy stint at Bundesliga club Mainz 05.

Having accrued an impressive tally of 75 appearances across various competitions for PSG, Diallo now embarks on a new chapter by venturing into the Qatar Stars League with Al-Arabi. Notably, his influence extended beyond the confines of his club, as he contributed to RB Leipzig's triumph in the German Cup during a loan spell in the previous season. Over the course of his time with the Bundesliga team, Diallo showcased his versatility, amassing 15 appearances and securing a goal.

In addition to his club accolades, Diallo has also demonstrated his prowess on the international stage. The seasoned player, a former captain of France's under-21 team, has represented Senegal on 23 occasions, playing a pivotal role in their conquest of the 2021 African Cup of Nations. Moreover, his participation in the previous year's World Cup underscored his commitment to excellence and his status as a football luminary in both domestic and international arenas.
