Arsenal had two goals at the Emirates today.

Recovering from defeat to Aston Villa in their last league match and snapping a three-match losing streak at Brighton at this venue. Mikel Arteta's side achieved both goals courtesy of Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz. Arsenal beat Brighton 2-0 in their 17th Premier League match.

With this victory, Arteta's team topped Liverpool's league points. At the same time, Aston Villa moved up to second after beating Brentford 2-1. Liverpool, who are third with 37 points, face Manchester United later in the day.

Both of Arsenal's goals at the Emirates came in the second half. Despite having more possession in the first half, nobody found the net for Brighton. In the 53rd minute of the match after the break, Jesus put the ball into the net from Bucayo Soccer's corner and put the Gunners ahead. And the second goal of victory came in the 87th minute thanks to Havertz.

After 17 matches, Arsenal's points stood at 39. Which put them above Liverpool's 37 points in 16 matches. Jurgen Klopp's side have been overtaken by Aston Villa.

Lewis-Potter's goal in the 45th minute at Brentford saw the team fall behind. But second-half goals from Alex Moreno in the 77th minute and Ollie Watkins in the 85th minute gave Villa a 2–1 victory.

Aston Villa points 38 in 17 matches. In the other match of the day, if Liverpool can beat United to go top, a top three finish is guaranteed. Because Manchester City, which is fourth, has managed to collect 34 points in 17 matches.
