Lyon's Late Triumph: 1-0 Win Over Monaco in Ligue 1 Challenge

 Olympique Lyonnais, a team facing challenges, managed to secure a narrow 1-0 victory against the third-placed AS Monaco in a Ligue 1 match on Friday. The winning goal came late in the game from substitute player Jefferson Jeffinho.

Lyon, currently struggling with the threat of relegation, had opportunities to score earlier in the match through players like Alexandre Lacazette and Clinton Mata. However, a goal by Ernest Nuamah in the 14th minute was disallowed due to an offside decision.

AS Monaco also had their chances in the first half, with Wilfried Singo and Maghnes Akliouche attempting shots, but Lyon's goalkeeper Anthony Lopes made crucial saves.

Despite additional opportunities for both teams, it wasn't until the 85th minute that Lyon secured the victory. Jefferson Jeffinho, who came on as a substitute for Nuamah, scored an impressive goal to claim the win.

With this result, Monaco remains in the third position with 30 points, trailing two points behind Nice. Nice is set to play against Le Havre on Saturday. Paris St Germain leads the league with 36 points and will face fourth-placed Lille on Sunday.

The victory has lifted Lyon from the bottom of the standings to the 16th spot. They will face Nantes in their upcoming match on Wednesday.
