Manchester United had a tough time in the Champions League, losing 1-0 to Bayern Munich. The defeat means they won't progress to the last-16. Manager Erik ten Hag acknowledged their poor campaign and now wants to focus on improving their Premier League standing. United finished fourth in their group, missing out on the Europa League too.

Ten Hag remains optimistic, aiming to secure a top-four spot in the Premier League and return to the Champions League next year. Despite the setback, they still have the FA Cup and other competitions to play for. The match against Bayern saw United struggle, with just one shot on target. Former players criticized the team's performance, highlighting the need for improvement.

Bayern's manager, Thomas Tuchel, expressed sympathy for Ten Hag's challenges, understanding the difficulties of managing a team with key players injured. Tuchel was surprised by United's group-stage exit, considering them a huge club with high expectations. The defeat adds to United's history, marking only the sixth time they've exited in the group stage.

Tuchel acknowledged the tight competition in the group matches and emphasized the unpredictability in football. United faces another tough challenge against league leaders Liverpool. Currently sixth in the Premier League, they aim to close the gap and secure a top-four position.
