AS Roma manager Jose Mourinho expressed disappointment with some players' "superficial approach" in their Europa League game against Servette, leading to a 1-1 draw. Although Romelu Lukaku gave Roma the lead, Servette equalized through Chris Bedia. The draw places Roma second in Group G, two points behind Slavia Prague.
Mourinho criticized the lack of focus in certain players, stating, "It seems that some people who don't have much European experience play these games somewhat superficially." He emphasized the importance of maintaining intensity throughout the match and lamented taking the game lightly, particularly in the second half.
Despite the setback, Mourinho downplayed the potential playoff scenario if Roma finishes second in the group, stating, "I don't think being in the playoffs is a disaster." He highlighted the motivation and the prospect of another significant European night at the Olimpico.
Roma's final group match is against bottom side Sheriff Tiraspol on December 14, while Servette, in third place, will visit Prague before moving to the Europa Conference League.
