Real Madrid Clinches Supercopa Final with Carvajal's MVP Performance

"Real Madrid has secured a place in the Supercopa de España final. Our team will face Barcelona this Sunday after an extraordinary derby against Atlético, a thrilling match that ended 3-3 in regular time (Rüdiger, Mendy, and Carvajal scored for our team) and was decided in extra time with goals from Joselu and Brahim. Carvajal delivered a monumental performance, earning the derby's MVP in Riyadh.

Atlético struck first, scoring six minutes into the game. Samu Lino shot from outside the box, drawing a stretched save from Kepa, but Mario Hermoso capitalized on the resulting corner to head his team into the lead. Real Madrid responded emphatically 14 minutes later, with Rüdiger converting a perfectly executed header from Modrić's corner.

Mendy put our team ahead, showcasing great quality in a well-orchestrated play involving the entire team. Carvajal provided an assist under Samu Lino's legs, and Mendy finished with finesse, slipping the ball between Giménez's legs and beating Oblak.

The derby continued its spectacular pace, with Atlético equalizing through Griezmann's goal in the 37th minute. Before halftime, a potential 3-2 situation almost occurred, but Rüdiger's pass to Rodrygo was thwarted by Oblak.

The second half maintained the intensity, with both teams creating chances. Atlético's Samu Lino narrowly missed the post in the 54th minute. In the 70th minute, Vini Jr. cleverly set up a free-kick, presenting Carvajal with a one-on-one opportunity against Oblak, who made a crucial save. The match took a controversial turn in the 79th minute when Morata's obstruction led to Rüdiger's goal, making it 2-3.

With just over ten minutes left, Real Madrid pressed forward, resulting in Carvajal's skillful finish in the 85th minute, leveling the score at 3-3.

Extra Time

Despite Real Madrid's late efforts, the match went into extra time. The first half saw the Madrid team dominate possession, but few goal-scoring opportunities arose. The second half witnessed Carvajal, the standout player of the semifinal, breaking free from Azpilicueta, delivering a cross that Joselu converted, making it 4-3. In added time, Brahim secured the win with the fifth goal. Ancelotti's team now awaits their opponent for Sunday's final."
