 Thilo Kehrer Revives Career with AS Monaco Loan from West Ham

On Friday, West Ham United officially announced that German defender Thilo Kehrer has completed a loan move to AS Monaco until the end of the season, with an option for a permanent transfer. Despite having accumulated 50 appearances since his arrival at West Ham from Paris St Germain in August 2022, the 27-year-old has fallen out of favor, featuring only 12 times in all competitions this season. This surplus to requirements situation arises as West Ham currently holds the sixth position in the Premier League.

With aspirations to revive his career, Kehrer, who last played for Germany in June of the previous year, is eager to enhance his chances of representing his country in the upcoming European Championship hosted in Germany later this year.

AS Monaco, currently positioned third in Ligue 1, views the addition of Kehrer as a strategic move to strengthen their squad. The French side is seven points behind league leaders PSG, who are themselves five points clear of Nice.
