Portugal concluded their Euro 2024 qualifying campaign with an impressive 2-0 victory over Iceland at home on Sunday, maintaining a flawless record of 10 consecutive wins in Group J.
The Portuguese team capped off their qualification with an outstanding 30 points, securing an eight-point lead over Slovakia, who also earned their place in next year's finals in Germany.
The first goal of the night came from Bruno Fernandes, who skillfully placed a low shot from the edge of the box eight minutes before halftime. Portugal extended their lead in the 66th minute, with Ricardo Horta capitalizing on a loose ball after Cristiano Ronaldo's initial attempt was thwarted.
In contrast, Iceland concluded their campaign in the fourth position on the table, accumulating a total of 10 points throughout the qualifying stage.
